United for Change: Get Involved Today
Democrats can’t make a difference—or protect your freedom—if they don’t get elected. Your vote matters. Your rights matter. Your family’s education matters. Real change starts at the ballot box—but it doesn’t end there.
The stakes are high. National leadership is rolling back civil rights protections, undermining our institutions, and threatening the values we hold dear as a community. But you are not powerless.
Democrats across the country—and right here in our community—are organizing, resisting, and building toward a better, fairer future. And you can be part of it.
There are many powerful ways to take action.
STAY INFORMED
Informing yourself—about how government works and the key issues at stake—can make you a far more effective advocate for the causes you care about. Reading the news is a great starting point, and diving deeper into research and analysis can give you a stronger foundation for understanding multiple perspectives. When we take the time to learn, we’re better equipped to have meaningful, respectful conversations that bridge divides and find common ground.
It’s also worth revisiting foundational documents like the U.S. and Virginia constitutions to refresh your understanding of the principles that shape our democracy.
Spread accurate, fact-checked information about voting, public policy, and current events. It’s one of the most powerful ways to combat misinformation and help others make informed decisions.
VOTE AND ENCOURAGE OTHERS TO VOTE
Voting is one of the most powerful ways you can make your voice heard—and your vote matters now more than ever. Voting is the basic, bare-minimum degree of civic engagement — if you are an eligible citizen, it’s the baseline way to engage with the democratic process and make your voice heard. Voting is quick and easy, and you can check your registration, register, and request a mail-in ballot online through the Department of Elections citizen portal.
Help friends, neighbors, or your community get registered. Encourage civic participation and expand the electorate.
SPEAK OUT
Use your voice—whether through social media, letters to the editor, or public forums—to raise awareness and advocate for what you believe in.
